Milford Memorial Library Board of Trustees selects next Library Director
At their regular meeting November 2nd, 2011, the Milford Memorial Library Board of Trustees appointed Susan J. Pratt as the next Library Director. Pratt begins her duties December 28th.
Susan Pratt is a graduate of Wayne State University in Detroit Michigan where she achieved her degree in Library and Information Science in 2006. A Grand Rapids Michigan native, Susan made the move to South Dakota in 2007. For the last 3 and one-half years she has been the Head Librarian at Dakota Valley School District where she has enjoyed both teaching and running the library system. Prior to her tenure at Dakota Valley, Pratt had served at two other public libraries.
Rick Kilts, Library Board President, stated that “after the board had interviewed some fine candidates we felt that Susan was the best fit for our community. We look forward to working with her.”
"I am delighted to join the Milford Memorial Library family and I am deeply honored to become part of such a wonderful and friendly community. I am looking forward to continuing in the footsteps of Tena Hanson and helping the library grow into the future. It is my greatest hope and desire to continue the highest level of service to the Milford community," says Pratt.
Pratt plans to attend the library’s Holiday Fantasy festivities December 2nd and 3rd, and welcomes the opportunity to meet everyone.
