Residential garbage collection is on Tuesdays.  If a holiday lands on a Monday such as Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day or Labor Day, then residential collection will take place on Wednesday.

The recycling service for the city will be split into two weeks, Gold Week and Green Week, both serviced on Tuesdays every other week. 

• All residences located on the South side of 13th Street/220th Street will be Gold Week. 
• All residences located on the North Side of 13th Street/220th Street will be Green Week.

The City of Milford does not collect electronics, you may contact Waste Management at 888-960-0008 and schedule a collection or you can take them to Dickinson County Regional Collection Center located 2260 220^th Street in Milford.  The contact number for DCRCC is 712-338-2549.

The City of Milford does not collect furniture, you may contact Waste Management at 888-960-0008 to schedule a collection year around for your furniture disposal needs.  There is a $25 fee per item collected.

The City of Milford collects white goods year around.  To schedule a collection you can stop by the City Clerk’s office and purchase a collection tag for $20 per item or you take your white goods for disposal to the Dickinson County Regional Collection Center located at 2260 220^th Street in Milford.

To repair or replace your damaged garbage or recycling container you would need to contact Waste Management at 888-960-0008.

Recreational fires in fire pits is allowed. All fires must be attended by a person 18 years of age or older at all times. However, the burning of landscape waste is NOT  allowed.

The City of Milford requires you submit a building application any time you are changing the cubic foot print of your home, installing egress windows, adding an accessory building, installing a fence or adding a deck.  Please contact the City Clerk’s office at 712-338-2741 or Bronson Seymour at 712-331-1042.

You need to contact Milford Municipal Utilities for your electric and water service needs at 712-338-2401.

Reservations for Florence Park Shelter and Milford Community Center require rental agreements.  For your convenience they are located in the “Documents & Permits” tab or you may collect an agreement at the City Clerk’s office located at 806 N Avenue.
