Milford Rescue: (Lakes Area Extrication Unit)
This unit responds to all medical emergencies in the Milford Fire District and to accidents throughout the area whenever requested. It carries the “Jaws of Life,” high-pressure airbags, mass-casualty equipment, and all needed medical supplies.
Tanker – 2: 2,000 gal.
Tanker to transport water for fires in areas with no hydrants, or to supplement hydrant flows when they are inadequate. The unit carries 2 porta-tanks to dump its water into at the fire scene. Also on board is a portable pump that can be used to get water from lakes or rivers close to the fire.
Tanker – 1: 3,000 gal.
Tanker to transport water. Equipped the same as Tanker – 2, but also has a hose-bed on the top to allow it to lay down a supply line from the fire to a nearby water source.
This unit carries all the equipment needed for a fire. From self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), to ventilation fans, traffic signs and cones, to extra hose. A cascade unit to refill the SCBA tanks is also carried on this unit.
4-wheel drive pick-up for use off-road at field and brush fires.
First out pumper; it has a 1,500 gallon-per-minute pump and carries 750 gallons of water. It has seating for 6 firefighters, 1,200 feet of 5-inch diameter supply hose and all the equipment necessary to start firefighting operations.
Second out pumper; it has a 1,000 gallon-per-minute pump and carries 750 gallons of water. It has seating for 4 firefighters and carries a similar list of equipment to Engine 1.
Grass / Rescue Truck
This 4-door, 4 wheel drive truck acts as both a firefighting unit for brush fires and also a rescue unit for calls in areas with difficult access. This truck carries Wildland firefighting equipment and basic life support and medical supplies.
